Alexandria Bay (known as "A-Bay" by the locals) is a three-kilometre walk taking you past Hell's Gates, in Noosa National Park. You can expect on most days, that beachgoers at Alexandria Bay will be wearing little to no swimmers. Yes, you read that correctly, A-Bay is somewhat of a nudist beach, yet in an unofficial sense.

Historically Alexandria Bay has been used unofficially as a clothing optional beach for many years, with locals simply avoiding it in past if it caused offence as it is a fairly isolated location and was not as well known amongst visitors.

Alexandria Bay Walk is in the Headland section in Noosa National Park on the Sunshine Coast, 160km north of Brisbane. Access is via sealed roads suitable for conventional 2WDs. Parking is limited so visitors are encouraged to walk, ride or catch the bus (see TransLink) during peak periods.

This is one of my favorite walks as it is not too long, and is a pleasant walk with a few gentle slopes to powerwalk up. The trail is a mix of wide sandy.

Alexandria Bay. This 1.2km stretch of white sand and rolling waves, between the Hells Gates and Devils Kitchen lookouts, is about as secluded as beaches get in the heart of Noosa. The locals know it as 'A Bay' and you can get here via Noosa National Park's popular coastal Tanglewood Track or stroll over the North Sunshine Beach headland.
