Things to do Phuket Town Chinpracha House
Chin Pracha Mansion is also known as Baan Chin Pracha. The house is more than 116 years old and was built in 1903 in a Sino-Portuguese style. Phuket people call this type of architecture "Angmor" that means Western or European. It was the first house of its kind built on Phuket and only a few of them remain standing.

Chinpracha House is located in Old Phuket Town on Krabi Road, a few metres from the Blue Elephant and Cooking School. It is closed on Sunday and there is a small entrance charge. Baan Chinpracha or Chinpracha house is one of the eighteen Sino-colonial mansions in Phuket and is the only one open to the public. Visitors are free to explore the ground floor, two-bedroom upstairs and the kitchen; the rest of the house is closed for visitors as people still live here.

Prapitak Chinpracha was born in Phuket in 1883, son of a Chinese family who had moved to Phuket in 1854 and who also had business dealings in Penang, Malaysia.
