4 piston, 1 rotary is very popular. I have 2 answers. My ideal "big tuba" would be a large German BBb such as a Miraphone Hagen 497. Rotor valves and a huge bell. My ideal "small horn" is the besson 983- a 4 piston compensating tuba that I have gotten to spend a lot of time playing, but just don't own one yet.
