Their American Fifth Bourbon is bottled at 90 proof. The look of American Fifth in the glass straddles amber and copper, not being quite dark enough to be properly called amber. Coating the glass leaves behind a few big, chunky legs. The scent is a lot like gingerbread crushed and sprinkled atop a creme brulee. The flavor however, is spicier.

The answer to the question "how many ounces are in a fifth of whiskey" is 25,6 US fluid ounces. The term 'fifth' has since been superseded by metric measurements, and now a metric fifth refers to 750ml which is equivalent to 25,4 US fluid ounces. The differences between the metric system and the imperial system can cause some confusion.

A fifth of whiskey actually means a fifth of a gallon (750ml bottle/25.4 fluid ounces). Until 1980, a fifth meant a whole bottle of liquor as that was the standard size. Now a bottle can hold more or less than 750 mL. However, if someone says they drank a fifth of whiskey, it means they drank quite a lot.

That really depends on where in the world you are and how you define "a shot". In the US a shot is generally a one or one-and-a-half-ounce measure in which case there would be 25 or 16 full shots in a fifth respectively (25.3 and 16.9 to be precise with the cross measurement values). In the UK a standard shot is generally 25ml or in some.
