Combine figs, sugar, flour, nutmeg and/or cinnamon; mix well. Spoon into an 8 inch square baking pan; dot with butter. This is what the inside of the fig looks like like. I cut off the stem tops, halved the figs, and then quartered them. Place figs in a mixing bowl. For any fruit cobbler, I use 1 cup flour, 1 cup sugar, 1 cup milk, 1 stick butter, 2 tsp. baking powder, a pinch of salt and 2 cups of fruit. Preheat the oven to 350° Melt the butter and pour into a baking dish.
