The Château d'Amboise is a château in Amboise, located in the Indre-et-Loire département of the Loire Valley in France. Confiscated by the monarchy in the 15th century, it became a favoured royal residence and was extensively rebuilt. King Charles VIII died at the château in 1498 after hitting his head on a door lintel.

Du projet de Charles VIII subsistent toutefois le logis royal, la chapelle Saint-Hubert où reposent les restes présumés de Léonard de Vinci 2, les terrasses et les tours cavalières qui donnent au monument cette silhouette si singulière. Le château d'Amboise fait l'objet d'un classement au titre des monuments historiques par la liste de 1840 3 .
