The Latour-Marliac waterlily nursery was founded in 1875 by Bory Latour-Marliac (1830-1911), an early and preeminent waterlily hybridizer. The Collection is curated in the brick-and-mortar cultivation pools that made up the original nursery. It has been recognized as the French National Collection of the genus Nymphaea since the 1990s.
