Hwarang was a very.. special drama for me. It was a drama that although I thought was boring at times, had hundreds of plot holes and a pretty unshipable main couple it still has a special place in my heart.

My main problem with Hwarang is the lead couple. First, the brother-sister relationship turned romantic was not it for me. I know they weren't actual siblings, but PSJ really did a whole 180 from "I'm your brother now" to kissing her. Go Ara's character had some potential, but the writers made her so helpless and overbearing at times.

The main couple had no chemistry whatsoever and I even found myself bored at their scenes. And lets not even begin talking about the plot holes. There were many and they were extremely noticeable.. To sum up, "Hwarang" offers entertainment, some likeable characters; the plots within are interesting but things are solved poorly..

A good ending for the couple. Overall, this show was cute. Full of handsome men, lovely women, and a grand landscape of one of the potent times of Korean history. I wish more of the history had been added into the major changes, especially in the ending. I would've loved to see the hwarang riding off to deal with a real historical happening.
