My thermarest ridgerest solite is about two years past its prime. I've been looking to buy a new one for about two years but it appears that that won't be happening. Reflective. Inexpensive. Durable. Makes a good pillow. Cons. Ridges catch snow. Bulky. This is one of those iconic pieces of gear that came along and made the world a better place and will never go away. The bad thing for Therm-a-Rest is that, this works so well that I will never go back to an iffy inflatable mattress.

Z-lite starts off more comfortable but flattens to a thinner size than the ridgerest after an excessive amount of use. It's easier to fold the panels into your pack as well, but a torso length ridgerest will fit inside some packs (load it in first so it serves as a foam liner for your other gear.)

Pros Lightweight Durable Closed-cell Cons None I borrowed this pad from my mother-in-law and used it on a cold weather hiking/camping trip recently.
