My friends! We've done it! Blue Dragon is now FINALLY reliably stable and optimized with minuscule to no graphical glitches, no vertex explosions, fixed accessory icons, and ZERO crashes. This goes for both Xenia fans on Desktop PC AND Steam Deck users. I am using the newest Xenia Canary Build (@bff24e3c1 Oct 15 2023).

This was a big achievement for us Deck users, but something PC users had achieved years ago. The right version of the game e.g. Title Update (TU). apply_patches set to true (default) in the Xenia Canary config. Open the .patch.toml file that corresponds to your game in a text editor (Notepad, VSCode, VSCodium, Notepad++, etc.) Change is_enabled from false to true. For example, to enable a 60 FPS patch:

For Blue Dragon, it sounds like to avoid battle crashes, don't use the 60FPS+ patch and disable vsync makes it a flawless experience?. Edit: Just disabled v sync and capped xenia to 60fps in rivatuner and it runs at 60fps holy shit! Running locked 30fps for me on a 7700k. A year ago this was barely playable for me so this is a huge improvement.

Just those moments during and after cutscenes I have to press F4. I have vsync set to false in the config file. And have the FPS in nvidia control panel for Xenia set at 40. It's fast. But you get use to it, comes in handy when grinding. Always when i start Game this happens after Intro.

Most people attribute the lack of success for the "Blue Dragon franchise" to a combination of bad business decisions and the earth-shattering failure that was the Xbox 360 in Japan. They tried hard to get this thing turned into a franchise complete with manga and cartoons and action figures in Japan but they were just not having it.
