Minolta XE-7 This is a solid tank of an SLR from Minolta released in 1974. When in manual mode, a needle on the right of the viewfinder indicates the speed of the electronically-controlled metal shutter to use based on the selected aperture, from 4s up to 1/1000s. If you rotate the shutter speed dial to "Auto", the camera sets the shutter for you.

The Minolta XE-7 with the MD W.Rokkor-X 24mm f/2.8. It's a little big, but it's very sturdy, solidly-built and feels good in the hands. (Daniel J. The Minolta XE-7 is a 35mm SLR camera. It was introduced in the 1970s and sold to photographers in North America. The model was produced in a factory in Japan. There, it could be purchased as the Minolta XE. In Europe, the model was available as the XE-1. The lenses of the 35mm camera can be interchanged. It comes with a Minolta SR bayonet.

Minolta XE-7, Olympus OM-1, Fujica 705 and the Leica M2. A local camera shop owner was really taken with how smooth and quiet the XE-7 shutter release was and often asked me to let him click off a picture. I also have a XE-1 which is the same camera but different designation for the European market.

The Minolta XE-7 is a truly remarkable camera. It is my favorite camera in my entire collection edging the Voigtlander Bessamatic by a couple of points. The XE-7 is the fruit of the collaboration between two of the camera industry power houses, Leitz and Minolta. It has a birth year of about 1975.
