Cromford ( / ˈkrɒmfərd /) is a village and civil parish in Derbyshire, England, in the valley of the River Derwent between Wirksworth and Matlock. It is 17 miles (27 km) north of Derby, 2 miles (3.2 km) south of Matlock and 1 mile (1.6 km) south of Matlock Bath.

History. Cromford Station lay on the line from Derby via Matlock to Buxton, services on which were severely cut by the Beeching Report of 1963.The line is now operated by East Midlands Trains with services from Nottingham to Matlock (via Derby).
