Malham Cove, a magnificent curved cliff made of limestone rock, rests a short trot away, opening up the chance to pop in and gaze up at this attraction that continues to draw in.

Malham Cove is an 80-metre high amphitheatre-shaped limestone cliff wall. You'll find limestone rock formations all over the Yorkshire Dales landscape. But, it's difficult to find a more beautiful limestone attraction than Malham Cove. In particular, the limestone pavement above the cove is unique and special.

Gordale Scar Campsite is slightly out of Malham but is well-located to explore Gordale Scar and Janet's Foss. Additionally, you can take an alternative route to the cove avoiding the most popular trail. In Malham, Riverside Campsite Malham is the closest to the cove at the top of the village.

A family run campsite on the grounds of a working farm, it's family friendly and perfectly positioned for those whose main reason for visiting the Yorkshire Dales is to visit the beautiful landmark.

Our campsite includes six acres of woodland, which has various wildlife and wild flowers. Located just a few miles from Malham, the local footpaths around Wood Nook give a wonderful views of Upper Wharfedale and Malhamdale. Malham Cove, Kilnsey Crag, Malham Tarn, Linton Falls, Janet's Foss, Gordale Scar and Buckden Pike are all close by.

The walk round to Janet's Foss, up Gordale Scar waterfall and then back over Malham Cove is one of my favourites (3 to 4 hours). There is also a fantastic walk to Settle along Stockwell Lane. Over 12 miles round trip and up and over the moor. Malham gets very busy at weekends but this is still one of my favourite campsites because of the location.

Malham Cove Little Miss Yorkshire
Busy. Par.ked at the farm a mile from the cove for £4 before taking the leisurly stroll to the cove itself. Lovely weather made the trip perfect but very busy in terms of walkers and climbers on the cove face somewhat spoiling the view. Better go on midweek days when less people are vying for pictures or abseiling routes.

Malham is located within the Yorkshire Dales National Park, one of Yorkshire's most impressive natural areas. A benefit of camping in Malham is that you can explore some of the most beautiful spots in the whole national park on foot: Janet's Foss Waterfall, Malham Cove, Malham Tarn, and Gordale Scar.

It's surrounded by limestone drystone walls, with a stream running right through the middle of the village. It offers striking scenery at Malham Cove, an impressive cliff formation of limestone rock.
