Project Information I got a bit antsy tonite waiting for more wood to dry after I glued them up. So since I had some cypress knees waiting to have something done I figured..what the heck? So I went to work and ended up with this neat vase. The top part wasn't level but I left it that way to see if I could get a neat design out of it.

Carving the cypress knee santa. Here I have removed most of the bark and some of the skin. I have made some initial cuts to begin the nose and eyes. In the photo below I have roughed out the nose, eyes and the top of the mustache. In the photo below I have roughed out the eyebrows, located the bottom lip, and roughly outlined the flow of the beard.
