Wineberry Jam It's that time of year again. The wineberries that grow wild all over our land are now ripe. Wineberries are similar to a raspberry in size and color, but have seeds like a blackberry. Paul spent several hours picking berries. Then I sterilized everything and made some jam.

Wineberry Jam makes 7 cups 5 c. seedless wineberry pulp/juice 4 c. sugar 1 package low-sugar Sure*Jell pectin 1. Mix the pectin with 1/4 c. of the sugar and whisk into the pulp in a large saucepot. 2. Bring the pulp and pectin mix to a rolling boil, and add all of the sugar at once. Bring back to a rolling boil and cook 1 minute.

This one the mashed berry for jam. Bring berries/juice to boil along with butter and box of pectin until it comes to a full rolling boil (that doesn't stop when stirred). Then add sugar and return to full boil for exactly one minute. Remove from heat, ladle into jars, wipe rims of the jars, and place the lids on. Boil the jars for 5 minutes.

The overall goal: make it simple and allow the fruit flavor to shine through. You only need 3 ingredients to make fantastic jam: fruit, sugar, and lemon. That's it. The easy method of boiling the mixture until it thickens is all there is to it. There's no need for pectin or preservatives.

2½ cups of wineberries. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Pour melted butter into an 11-by-7-inch baking dish. Mix 1 cup sugar, flour, milk and baking powder together in a bowl. Pour on top of melted butter in the baking dish, making sure not to stir. Place wineberries on top of mixture, making sure not to stir.

Preheat oven to 375°F. Mix the Berries: In a large mixing bowl, combine blackberries, wineberries, and cornstarch. Spread into a 9 x 9 (2 quart) baking dish. Topping: In another large mixing bowl, add the flour, oats, dark brown sugar, cinnamon & nutmeg.

Step 03- Initial Heating: Start the heating process over low heat, allowing the sugar to dissolve slowly. Stir gently to ensure even distribution. As the berries release their juices, gradually increase the heat to bring the mixture to a boil. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
